今日指導 一月五日

無人可避免生, 老, 病, 死這四苦.
能夠平等地自一切眾生的生命中去除痛苦的就是妙法.
因此, 教導全人類御本尊體現妙法的法力與功德, 是我們的責任.

No one can avoid the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness and death.
It is the Mystic Law that is capable of eliminating suffering equally from the lives of all people.
For this reason, it is our responsibility to teach all mankind the power and benefit of the Gohonzon which embodies the Mystic Law.

今日指導 一月四日

有些人認為, 就因為他們修行佛法, 他們的生意定會興隆, 他們就會成功.
這種短淺的想法顯示信心方面的懶散態度.
我們絕不應忘記, 只有繼續較他人更努力地工作與學習, 加強工作的掌握能力以及對生命充分了解, 我們的信心才能有所收穫.

Some people think just because they are practising Buddhism their business will prosper and they will succeed.
This kind of short-circuited thinking shows a lazy attitude in faith.
We should never forget that our faith will only bear fruit if we continue to work and study harder than other people to develop mastery in our work and a full understanding of life.

Life's true joy and happiness can only be savoured by those who live out the chosen path of their beliefs, no matter what others may say of them.

今日指導 一月二日

真正的勝利是臨終時所體會的勝利.
無論你在一生中取得甚麼勝利, 除非這能引向最後的凱旋, 否則就無甚意義.

True victory is victory that you experience at the last moment of your life.
No matter how victories you may be in the course of your life, unless it leads to final triumph, it will have little meaning.

恭賀池田先生八十大壽

2007年最後一天,是師弟會第一次集結,出席人數11人。

一年之內,各有困難,各有挑戰
一年之後,各有成長,各有勝利

弟子的一次又一次的勝利,不就是作為師匠的最佳禮物了嗎!

今天,是池田先生的八十生辰,作為弟子,充滿著決心,誓要與師匠一起迎向世界廣布第二幕,將日蓮大聖人佛法好好植根於自身心田,亦要把自己身在的廣布地區取得大勝利,成為佛國常寂光土。

只有提高你的生命境涯, 才在生命中產生價值, 開發出勝利的光彩.
唯有在一生中為妙法與廣宣流布挺身而出才能讓你的存在綴以福運與功德.

Value is born and victory shines forth in your life only to the extent that you develop your life-condition.
Good fortune and benefit adorn your existence only to the extent that you live out your life exerting yourself for the sake of the Law and for the sake of kosen-rufu.

Buddhism for you -- Prayer 27

A person of faith seeks self mastery; a person of ambition or power seeks to control others.
A person of faith takes action, works hard and struggles to overcome his or her inner weakness; a person driven by a desire for power forces others to work for his or her own selfish purpose, never reflecting upon himself.

When we are aware that each gesture and step we take is truly mystical and lives with greater thought and care.

The highest offering to the Buddha is not to worship something reminiscent of the Buddha.
Rather, it is to inherit the Buddha's spirit.

Who answers our prayers?
We do--through faith and efforts.
No one does it for us.

Buddhism for you -- Prayer 26

It's important to remember that your prayers always reflect your state of life.
In that respect, prayer is a solemn means to raise your life-condition.
And to get exactly the results that you're praying for, it is crucial to make determined, single-minded efforts toward that goal.

When we hear of a friend struggling somewhere, or that those in some other region or community are in difficulty or facing a daunting challenge, we send them our prayers as earnestly as if praying for our own happiness.

Now, if you wish to attain Buddhahood, you have only to lower the banner of your arrogance, cast aside the staff of your anger, and devote yourself exclusively to the one vehicle of the Lotus Sutra.--Nichiren

In this egoistic world, to offer prayers and work hard for the happiness of others, as well as for oneself, is magnificent.

Amid this harsh reality, people yearn from the depths of their beings to live with dignity and for their lives to have meaning, and they make efforts toward that end.
The product of these human yearnings, these prayers, is religion.
Religion was born from prayer.

It's natural for prayers to center on your own desires and dreams.
There's no need to pretend that you're praying for something lofty when you're not.
By praying naturally, without affection or reservation, for what you seek most of all, you'll gradually come to develop a higher and more expansive life-condition.

Compassion is the very soul of Buddhism.
To pray for others, making their problems and anguish our own; to embrace those who are suffering, becoming their greatest ally; to continue giving them our support and encouragement until they become truly happy--it is in such humanistic actions that Nichiren Buddhism lives and breathes.

How, then, can we come to perceive that there is no difference between our minds and the Buddha's mind?
Only through our human powers of faith and practice.

A person of deep prayer is never deadlocked.

Buddhism aims to make people free in the most profound sense; its purpose is not to restrict or constrain.
Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is a right, not an obligation.
